MORRISTOWN, NJ — Anna Lee Williams, community advocate, Rutgers alumna, and proud daughter of Vietnamese-Italian American parents, announced her campaign for Congress today in New Jersey’s 11th District.
"I'm not a politician. I'm a normal person who understands what it’s like to worry about rent, about healthcare, about whether your parents, or even you, can afford to retire,” said Williams. “This campaign is about delivering a Fair Deal to the people who keep our communities running, but are getting squeezed from every direction.”
Raised in South Plainfield, NJ, Anna was the first in her family to graduate college, earning top honors at Rutgers University. Over the last decade, she’s worked across the nonprofit and private sectors, leading programs that support immigrants, expand access to education, help small business owners, and mentor young people.
Anna’s campaign is grounded in a simple idea: If you’ve done everything right — worked hard, paid taxes, helped your neighbors — you deserve a fair deal.
“This campaign isn’t about me,” Williams said. “It’s about all of us — and the promise that if you keep your side of the bargain, your government should keep theirs. That’s the Fair Deal.”
